GROUNDS FOR HOPE
FOUNDATION
Cambodia is a country that has recently gone through prolonged wars of over two decades. At that time, many people became victims, many families have been broken up, its members separated, starving or dying from fights. Some of them could fortunately make their way to resettle abroad for better lives. Because of war, many women widowed and many children became orphans. They struggled to find a way to live through hardship, difficulties, and illiteracy.

Nowadays Cambodia is being developed and a lot of progress is made but there are also unexpected issues occurring for which solutions need to be sought. Some of the major problems are extreme poverty, HIV/AIDS, drug use, the migration of many people who leave Cambodia to neighboring countries for work. Children of these families are illiterate and very vulnerable; due to the difficulty to access to education, the impossibility for their poor parents to provide them security, they are more likely to engage in drug use, which may lead to instability of the nation as a whole.
